The
Hope & Anchor, London 21/05/05

The
Hope and Anchor, Islington, was a different kind of
gig altogether, no more or less an unrelated three-band bill
you plays yir songs, you takes yir chances kind of thing. But
again, it was good and busy, we played well, and there were
even dancers. There's nothing better than winning over a cold
crowd.
Fortunately, there were a couple of pals of pals turned up with video gear and
dedicated themselves to recording this historic visit to one of the great shrine's
of Two-Tone history, so we should hopefully have some clips up for your amusement
soon.
Also
on the bill were The Plugs, clever chaps who really really should
get in touch with Glasgow's El Hombre Trajeado, with whom they
share a fondness for jittery guitar soundscapes, and the Len Price 3,
who were as mod as spending a weekend in Brighton kicking over motorbikes, and
who kindly let us use they're genuine 1960s steam-powered amps. After a bit of
arm-twisting.
