Gaz's Rockin Blues, London 19/05/05

Gaz's Rockin Blues in Soho did not fail to deliver on its promise of atmosphere and enthusiasm. By the time we hit the dinky wee stage, the place was absolutely mobbed, and everyone seemed to be dancing. Celebrity spotters will be enthralled to hear that amongst the crowd were Mark Lamarr (who has now secured his status as our main man in the media), Ringo Starr's rather lovely daughter, and the guy who played Spider in Coronation St. Star of the night, though, has to be Gaz Mayall himself, who certainly knows how to whip a crowd into a frenzy of excitement over a Scottish punk-ska outfit that they quite possibly hadn't heard of till he started repeatedly shouting our name into a microphone. Made us feel like a WWF tag team about to charge into battle. Highlight: Spider dancing Lowlight: £3 for a bottle of Stella
